Museum of Computing.

The first physical museum of its kind in the UK dedicated to the history of computing.

Museum of Computing

The Museum of Computing is the UK’s first computer museum and is based in Swindon town centre in Theatre Square.

We are family-friendly and welcome people of all ages. You will find many hands-on exhibits including our ‘Pong to Playstation’ section showing the history of the home games console. The collection includes calculators (both mechanical and electronic) and a large collection of home computers from the 1970’s onwards. We welcome groups and school visits – check our Education pages for more information.

“Visited today and would recommend to anyone with an interest in computing, gaming or just a desire to relive your childhood. Many working usable computers and games consoles ready for you to play on. Friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand and great value for money”.
“Took my 9 year old son here on Saturday having never been before. Brilliant for nostalgia value and was great to show him how games used to be ‘in the good ol days’ (he seemed less than convinced but he loved playing the old consoles and hearing about how good i used to be at Mario 3). Helpful staff, great value and would definitely go back”.
