Doing it for Dan.

Supporting young people to be active & participate in sports.

Doing it for Dan.

Doing it for Dan was set up in memory of 11 year old Daniel Climance. Daniel was kind, caring and loved all kinds of sport. We support young people to be active and participate in sports by awarding grants to individuals, teams and organisations for equipment, kit and club memberships.

More children than ever are struggling with their mental health and are doing less than the recommended amount of daily exercise. There is also a worrying increase in child obesity. We believe that encouraging children to become involved in sport from an early age is key to tackling these issues and helps increase confidence and self esteem. At Doing it for Dan we are passionate about supporting young people to enjoy the benefits that come from being active and to achieve their sporting dreams. We aim to give young people in Wiltshire and its neighbouring counties greater opportunities to participate in the sporting activities they love.

Funding.

We review applications for funding once a quarter in January, April, July and October. Applications for funding can be made through our website.

The trustees of DIFD raise all funds themselves with the support of our dedicated fundraisers. No money is received from Government or other sources.
